Intel Montevina, contrary to what everyone can imagine, it’s not just the processor but a platform formed by Penryn processor, 4 Express Chipset Mobile and Wireless Adapter Wi-Fi/WiMAX.
The processor, Penryn, is the same used in the current Santa Rosa platform, with minor changes. They are manufactured in 45 nanometer and more advanced models will rate clock frequency of up to 3.06GHz
The innovations are even more interesting is with the Express Chipset Mobile 4, which brings support for DDR3 memory and Gigabit Ethernet, but what draws attention is the bearer of truth to the world of High Definition. Thanks to new GMA X4500 integrated graphics card which, according to Intel, has a capacity three times larger than predecessor X3100 and exits could include HDMI, DVI, UDI and media support for Blu-Ray.
The wireless adapter, use the default 802.11ne is the item that has spent more time for the giant of processors, several tests have been made, especially with respect to WiMAX connectivity.
There is information that Intel may not use the codename Montevina. The idea is to call it, Centrino 2, making clear reference to the new product would be a definite trend lines of Centrino earlier.
